I used the quick install guide and i still cant it connected

You don't need the cd to setup the router, if its a linksys router start your web browser type in 192.168.1.1 for the web address then when the login box shows up type in admin for the username and admin again for the password, then you can configure the router for the type of internet connection you have

hmm... you should just be able to hook the modem to the router and it should just work. i have two of them and i dont need drivers for either of them. but then again i do have ddwrt on both of them.

its not a wireless modem we also need wireless for my moms laptop and other stuff.

Then it has nothing to do with Router CD software. Contact you ISP and ask them how to turn off the gateway modem you currently have.

Then plug the modem into the uplink port on the router, and then plug the computers into the CAT5E/LAN ports.

If doing it wirelessly, I would recommend you always use a wired connection to access the router, otherwise, it is bound to fail.

Type 192.168.1.1 in the URL bar, and put the password admin in.
Then you should be good to go. But first you need to take the modem/router off of that mode and just use it as a modem.
