Well... this happened to me... From what i could tell... it doesn't have much to do with MSN... I had a similar thing to you...
I had 17 different people add me... I knew none of them, and neither did any of my contacts. They kept trying to send me files, but not knowing them i didn't accept... but 1 day my sister got on and accepted... so I had to format... I learn't 3 lessons from that... 1. don't add people you don't know on MSN. 2. get some better Antivirus/spyware/adware gear... and finally 3. Don't let your sister mess around on your computer.

(My apologies to all females but my sister is really, really creative in pissing me off, she doesn't mean it though... she just wanted to be helpful...)

Same thing happened to me but it was actually a bot.

I talked to the bot for a bit and amused myself. When I got bored, it went on my block list.
