Remote access with just an IP
Is there a way that I can connect remotely to a computer just based on IP. I just built a pc for my grandparents and they seem to need more help than I expected
 . I really dont want to have to use a service.

Create a logmein account. It is free and you can remote into their machine after you install the logmein software.

Remote Assistance Telnet VNC SSH etc etc etc etc etc etc Can I keep doing this? Log me in is retarded. You shouldn't have to install software that already is on a computer by default. That to me also feels like a huge security risk. Plus I am sure they have to be on both computers. If you can't get over there in time, then there is no way for him to be able to use it.

Is there a way to do it with just built in software in the OS? Its my PC (Vista ultimate) connecting to XP Pro

There is a good program out there called teamviewer. Its free. There is VNC as well.
