Now you need to cover the DAT (Dynamic Address Translation) in conjunction with NAT

Well I don't torrent or stream HD, so I guess that is why I have had no issues with my little Linksys's.

There would be two seperate PCs still though.... A mATX server and a mITX router. I just like the idea of data and network in one box....

Yeah, I originally wanted to integrate my fileserver into the router, but the more I read it was just too much trouble, but if your masochistic like me (I tried to run Ubuntu on a PPC box, don't ever do that, just run Gentoo) then go for it. I've resigned that I will just have multiple boxes for relatively simple setup, I don't like constant maintenance lol.

I'd like to note that Tomato does not support the disabling of it's firewall, which is rather annoying if you have muliple devices that can do it.

Hmm, I'll take that out then, Smoothwall/m0n0wall both do firewall and its pretty hard to get them to work without it (at least on a home connection).

DD-WRT gives more power, it's better than Tomato unless you just want it simple.

Very cool and may play with the idea in the future but at this time I have an att dsl modem that does DHCP connected to a linksys 8 port switch and all computers have there own IP address and this is working very well. 4 wired computers, XBox 360 and a Dlink wireless AP (2 Lappys) plus one server used as a file server. no problem with torrents although I dont do them much anymore and I play BF2 and my kid plays Guild wars with no probs.
even when the wife is online (No games for her)
