Buy a pci card to put in your dell, It is a card that can detect wireless signals (wifi).

Um... is it seriously 100 ft away from your other computer? Or is it on the opposite side of a house?

I would either get a wired or wireless router, flash it with DD-WRT and then get the neccesary equipment (NIC's, Wireless NIC's, Cables, etc).

You could run the cable that far, but you would need to run it through the wall or in the crevice next to the carpet. If you ran it through the carpet you would probably need a repeater or switch.

What do you mean "reasonably priced"? You arn't going to find anything under Twenty Dollars that is at least Gig connection or from a brand name company.
