Nice guide for nubs, but you're missing something: networked A/V boxes.

Running anti-virus on your actual PC absolutely kills HDD access performance, as if it wasn't bad enough already. But sticking an A/V box between your firewall and your PC, or using a UTM box, is a lot more performance friendly. Endian, Untangle, Watchdog, Sonicwall, McAffee, and a few others all have UTM boxes which can detect when you download a virus and block it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I am a little busy right now but I will setup another section within a week or two. Might even include it in the guide NameUnknown and I might be doing together.

Comodo works well, but it is a resource hog from my experience. I personally like Avast better.
