Wow, this thing is awesome. I'm looking for a nice cheap thing to build and this may just be the answer to my questions!
Does anyone have a build log of their's or anything else that i can check out. I am currently checking most links in this thread but i wanna know more! ![]() EDIT: Do you guys reckon it would run well on this? I plan on using whichever will give me the most things eg firewall etc so whatever is the most resource heavy with everything running on it would be the best to judge on if possible. http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_5...AREBONE_SYSTEM

My Untangle Setup
Compaq Presario 6000EA Pentium 4 2.4MHz., 768MB RAM, 40 gig IDE Hard Drive Integrated Intel ICH2/Kinnereth+ 10/100 Network Card PCI Linksys LNE100TX EtherFast 10/100 LAN Card HP CD Burner My Network Untangle PC Dlink DGL-4300 - used as a switch Desktop My Laptop Wife's Laptop Server HTPC Xbox 360 - bridged with HTPC Vonage There wasn't enough for me to do to really do a build log. I inserted a nic card into an old Compaq P4 PC and installed Untangle. I followed the install guide and forwarded the ports I needed. Added the addons I wanted and it worked right out of the box.

I'm thinking of using Untangle within a VM in Server '03. Does anyone here have experience with both Untangle and S03/ISA Server? I'd appreciate hearing about advantages/disadvantages as I'm not sure which I'm going to use yet. Thanks.

A dedicated Untangle server? It shouldn't be that hard to setup. Just follow the directions on the Untangle website.

Hi, Ive been asked to post here, I am running Untangle on a dell optiplex gx260 I bought for £20 on ebay, it was a pain at first because the previous owner disabled the secondary ide channel in the bios and I didnt realise. after that I upgrade the ram from measly 256mb (2x128) and added 768mb (1x512 1x256) that I had lying around (just bought a stick of 512mb for £3 from a mate in college, adding that later when the people in house arent surfing, maybe about 10pm), I think that the throughput of my intenet connection has increased and bittorrent gets more peers than usual, and the virus scan works well (clamav).

Darren, I see you have a nfusion receiver being handled by Untangle. Did you have to do anything to get it working? My nfusion receiver locks up when it boots up and gets an IP from the untangle server. If i leave the network cable unplugged, boot up and then plug it back in it gets an ip....

Did you have the same problem when it wasn't connected into your nfusion? on my nfusion I'm running 1.50.0 - I know on the 1.50.1 they added Multi Proxy and of course fixed some things on SUNS.. which version are you running?
