Default Internet Connectiion Speed

I have internet through timewarner and i have the 6M down and 512 up
Why is it that i dont ever get 6M down the max i ever get is around 700kb/s

heres a speed test

That's fairly common. Are you using any splitters that may be giving you a poor signal?

I only have a linksys router and usally there is only one computer connectd at a time

You're speedtest is what you should be getting for 6/512, remember its 6megaBIT's, not megaBYTEs, 6megabits per second would be roughly 700k or so, so you're right on.

Actually that is right on. 5796 kb/s is equal to 5.796 gb/s so just under your 6m speed!! You are right on!
