Ok if you look to my profile you will know my location. i had a very good connection until the government took an initiative to cancel the low speeds and start with 1mbps so and because of that i was moved to 4mbps plan. which cost me as 2mbps i was on.
Since i was moved to that speed my internet is awful and i'm an online gamer and the latency is unbearable. because they increased the speed but not the bandwidth as they have no enough bandwidth yet. so after that long story. a friend of mine told me that i can use the 3G usb stick that supports HSDPA 7.2, bridge it to my lan and hook my 360 to my lan. and i will be able to.. I can't try it as i've to buy it to be able to. so i was wondering if any one of you guys has any experience with something like that. it would be great help. Thanks a lot.

As Far as I know HSDPA, High Speed Data Packet Access, 7.2 is a cellular technology.
Like verizon or sprint offers for moblie laptop usage. Does your friend have some steps that he took to get this to work properly for him? One question though, wouldn't this cost a ton on moolah if your not on an unlimited data plan?

In order to use internet over 3g you need to pay for that service from a cell phone provider (unless the goverment is providing it). Also, 3G normally tends to have high latency and low bandwidth becuase of the nature of the technology.

Or you could try one of these.
http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...oduct_id=24724 Same as a regular router but HSDPA capable. I know that the price listings might not be the same but you get the idea.

well actually, we have that USB stick modem that supports HSDPA 7.2 and he connects it to his laptop, bridge the connection and uses his ethernet to hook up the xbox 360.
And the prices isn't high really.. it's like 15$ for 4GB monthly which i guess is enough for a month of online gaming. and i can always use prepaid cards to refill my limits. i'll be using this only for my online gaming so i wont be using all of it " I hope ". and i've been at his place few minutes ago and i check the ping to yahoo.com and it was like 120ms which is pretty good if we looked that i am very far away from those servers. So let me know guys. what do you think guys.

OH, your bridging it through your laptop.Try setting up an ICS with it.If you can get better speeds, sure, why not go that route.
At lease give it shot.

I recommend that you install some bandwidth monitoring. It may be cheap but its always good to know how much your going over.

thanks darkknight "nice nick btw" and luckly vodafone support a bandwidth monitor.
Any way i hooked up that USB modem to find it giving me 7.2mbps and a solid 150-200 ms ping when on COD: W@W which is very good if we look at my location and the fact it's still not DSL. Anyway i can't wait to find a 48Hr live code to try that with the xbox and decide if it really deserve the money. My xbox VGA cable will arrive tomorrow and i will give you guys a feedback on the speed as soon as i get a 48 hour live trial.
