if you mean remote as in your ISP is in US and you come to Canada, you can plug ur (assuming that you dont drag ur rig over) laptop to the phone jack n use dialup i BELIEVE (meaning dont flame if im wrong) that you can put your computer through your cell phone n run internet like that

My suggestion, if you are running windows xp professional is to enable remote desktop. Behind whatever firewall is blocking the sites, if you can remotely connect to your computer it can do all the dirty work of finding the sites for you and you can control it from the external location. I do that to my college computer when i am off-campus and need to access the on-campus e-library.
