Default Bandwith Allocator?

Is there a program that will allow me to choose what programs get what bandwith??
I ask this because I have an FTP server up and when I run lets say Limewire.
It lowers the bandwith available for my FTP server. And I want it so that all my upload bandwith at all times will goto this server.

You can adjust the bandwidth that Limewire uses.

Well, not exactly because programs use ports to transfer data. A program would not be able to differentiate between programs if it was just looking at the data transferred.

As j3r3my said, just turn down the bandwidth of other programs you are using to prevent your FTP from slowing down. For the most part, this means turning down your upload on those other programs. This is because your upstream is pretty much all the FTP requires, and if your sharing on other things then you are really going to give your users a crappy connection. See if that works, if you have more questions, feel free.

I think theres some routers that will give bandwidth priority to certain ports.

Meh.
Lets forget that question then.
I just need a torrent client that allows for upload bandwith/number of uploads to be changed.

I use it and don't have any problems. It is one of the very few bit torrent clients recommended by the few torrent sites I'm a member of.
