Default win XP SP2 and programs

Ever since I installed win xp service pack 2 I’ve had nothing but problems connecting and sharing my files on soul seek. I even shut off the firewall but can't share with some people on my list who I could share with on my other system. Can I change any settings in SP2 or just uninstall it?Also what is strange is that some times it does work?

anyone ?
