Would the first PC still be assigned an IP and protected by untangle or would it have to be connected to the 2nd switch?
Thanks

The first PC won't be protected by Untangle until you put it on the 2nd switch.

The first pc and the untangle server/2nd switch are on different floors and I can't put anymore cabling in.

You can not. It must be connected to the 2end switch. Untangle is cool.

You'll have to manually configure the modem/router then.

Guess I'll stick to using Re-Router with Untangle for windows to get the whole network for now until I can sort out the first PC.

Can you assign a static IP to the first PC and Untangle?

Is there any advantage to using untangle as the DHCP server?
