Default Router is broken.

My router is broken, the whole thing would reset like every 5 minutes. So I decided to plug my pc straight to the cable modem itself (Time Warner Turbo wired) but it won't connect unless through my semi broken router. My router is connected to the modem. Should I buy another router? If so, what kind of wired/wireless router should I buy? Or how can I fix my modem connection to my pc?

Are you sure it's broken? My modem used to do that in the summer, realised it kept overheating... and what is this semibroken router anyways (make+model)?

You probly need to reset the cable modem to default settings or call your isp and get your pc mac address added to it. And have you tried to reflash the routers firmware that can fix them sometimes.
