so im downloading this file, and i glance at it and im like WTH is wrong with this stupid thing, the first numbers i saw were 1.6 so im thinking its all screwy. upon further looking i noticed this i have had a 700mb file half done in under 2 minutes.



the file finished 3 minutes after i posted this, 700mbs in less then 10 minutes is just awesome.

well even then, with vista i averaged around 400 KB\s not freaking 1600KB\s

Pretty sure the speed of your downloads has nothing to do with your OS.

pretty sure it does, what do you think handles all the info and how the wifi card reacts and processes the data. i just got my wifi working right under windows 7, vista was alot slower and lagged down my internet, this is not even messing with anything, and mike, if you dont have anything constructive to say, keep the hell out of my threads ok.

It really doesn't have much to do with Windows 7. It depends on the tracker and if the seeds are actually doing their jobs properly.

I do recall thinking Windows 7 was faster with my downloads, but there is no actual proof that the OS is causing the speeds to be any faster. It could just be one of those moments. Sometimes I get great speeds like that and sometimes I don't.

Still, I think it mainly has to do with the tracker and the amount of seeds.

If it's on a private tracker, I almost always see insane speeds like that.

I didn't realize you own your threads on OCN and can dictate who posts in them. So I'll post where ever the hell I please. I could truly care less if you don't like it. If me pointing out the obvious bothers you, then you've got problems.

I've never heard nor seen swings on download speeds like that because of the OS. Either 7, XP, Vista, OSX - all fast downloads dependent on seeders.

i tried the same torrent on my vista setup and it was about 340 slower, so i would point it to the OS. but even then, chrome is still dosent lag like i used to when downloading. i cant even feel it going.
