I wanna be able to connect to my work computer from home. My work computer stays on 24/7. I want to be able to connect to it and retrieve/edit, view files. I wanna be also be able to view the screen, as I have a security system setup onto it also. So I'd like to be able to control the computer.
What software would I need for this to be able to happen. I wouldn't mind paying for one if need be. Thanks again

I've used TeamViewer with success. My aunt in Los Angeles was having virus problems and I fixed the PC from here in Montreal. I think you should look for a more professional/powerful solution though.

I've used LogMeIn in the past and it's great. https://secure.logmein.com/US/home.aspx

Would those work if there is no end user to accept the request?

Yes, LogMeIn has a client side program that you run on your computer, then log in through the website. The free version doesn't have file transfer, just remote control. The pro version has file transfer though.

Your company should have an IT guy capable of setting all that up for you

Remote desktop would ask me of username, password and the pc I wanted to connect to.As long as it's configured right you should have no problems.Tightvnc was used to connect to a Linux server(It's available for MS too) which I had setup so that no one would have to accept the connection, just put in my credentials and that was that.
