How will i know if what kind of wireless tech an item has when it is not written anywhere on the hardware and the box has been lost.

They are always backwards compatible normally.
If it's not written, try googling the numbers on the card. Worst case, just try connecting to different Wi-Fi types.

still +1 Anyway it could be seen around the device manager! cool! how about for routers? if its N/G/B/A? and another thing.. setup: PC>cable(-not on wifi)>Router is it possible to be able to tell what kind of ROUTER is being used and its specifications? well, since its "hard"-connected to the pc anyway and im just guessing that it is possible.

Well, in the device manager:
If anything has (n) then the card is a wireless n card, if not, it is most likely a g.

Read the label and google for spec?
BTW if your device is draft N, it is not guaranteed to work at 11n speed with other vendor's devices. Slower b/g mode would kick in fine.

Do you know the brand of the router(Belkin,Linksys,D-Link)? If so you might be able to connect using it's ip address by typing it into a web browser --192.168.1.1,192.168.1.0,192.168.2.1 etc... This can connect you to the routers interface. Are you connected to the internet?

Use any probe software, for example inSSIDer, it will tell you which modes are on broadcast.
