I came across an idea a while ago as there are the occasions wherein I really need a wireless router, but not frequently enough to actually buy one. I was wondering if any of you know of any sort of linux distro that I can boot off the sd card on my netbook and use the netbook wireless as an access point to the rest of my network.

Interesting idea. Is the netbook plugged directly to the router?
This is a nice alternative. I've installed a few of them now, work wonderfully.

I know it can be done in windows but it isn't quite the same. I have actually tried it and 1. it just doesn't want to work for me and 2. some hardware like the wii refuse to connect to an ad-hoc style network.
