Default Help with 2 Computer Network

Hi guys, first post. I've been trying to set up a network for the past few days, but I have a problem. I have 2 computers - 1 a PC, wired to a DI-524 router, and a Toshiba laptop that feeds off the wireless connection. While I've always been able to wirelessly share internet, I can't seem to make the two computers see each other. When I go to "view workgroup" on the laptop, I get the following message (after about 1 minute pause - "Home (Home being the name of the PC) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently availible." So, anyone got an idea on how to fix this?
Thanks,
-Sam

Did you use the Windows network setup wizard?

And to confirm, Desktop is wired, laptop wireless?

System: Linux exclusive? I think so.

Hmm... They are both on the same workgroup, and both have permissions to be open on the network, right?
What model is your router, and is it designed as a hub also? (I/e, multiple ethernet outputs on the back?)

And by the way, welcome to the forums.

I gotta go for the night, Gotta get up and work tomorrow, but after a little research it sound like an incompatabilty with the routers firmware. I'd try updating it, then re-doing the network setup in Windows. If that dosn't work ,drop me a PM with some more details and I'll look deeper into it for you. Good luck!
