Default Direct Connection works, Wireless fails.

Hey there!

This past thanksgiving week was great, but the day everyone left my wireless internet dropped in my house. I guess I shouldn't of let anyone get near my setup!

Here is the layout of my internet setup. All wired computers work, while the wireless ones fail to even find the wireless name. (they find the neighbors):

I am really lost here. I thought it was a power issue so I moved where the modem / router into a new outlet. I am currently typing this on my computer that is directly connected.

thanks for any advise.

unless you have a bunch of custom setting that's take ya forever to get right again, I'd just reset it. there's usually a lil button or hole to stick a pin in. Hold down that button for 15 seconds and then get your stuff set back up.

Ah ok, I just pressed it quickly. I'll hold it for 15 seconds.

Nothing seemed to happen. I held it for 30 seconds, and waited a half an hour.

Is there a way to install new firmware on it? I found a download but it was a .bin file, and I don't know what to do with it.

i've noticed problems with the linksys wireless routers i've had over the years. i pretty much just piddled with it and did what desert rat said and reinstalled drivers/whatnots. eventually got it to work. now i'm using a trendnet.

does it show that wireless is on and your laptop is not picking it up? sometimes moving the router may works.

Are you able to see the wireless network? Try it again for 30 sec, then allow it to come back online(lights)30 seconds or more, then power it down along with the modem for another 30 sec.See if that does the trick.
