Default 18meg Modem
Hey guys My dad gave me his 18meg Modem I have it hooked up to my router and when I do a speed test I only get up to 8meg down is because I'm on wireless and the router is on mixed? And not on G?
Cause like sometimes I watch youtube videos and they stop streaming because they have to load.. I'm like ugh!

It all depends on what your house/whatever's plan.

More than likely your plan is 8MB/xMB up.

You can't just install a better modem expecting increased performance, since most modems CAN perform at double/triple the speed of the plan you're on.

probably ur speed is capped at 8meg

I want to uncap it ugh... My dad has a 25meg down I hate him lol. But we get everything for free since he is the plant manger down in this town means the boss of everything like he runs the Head end here servers and channels and internet XD I get to see so much cool stuff
