So your using a hub not a router? b/c thats gonna make it tricky. To make that work your gonna need either a second NIC in one machine or your ISP is gonna have to allow the modem to release a second IP which costs more per month. I would suggest just getting a router but if you wanna I or someone here can help you set it up with just a second NIC in one machine.

Alright well np... What kind of modem is it? Cable or dsl? The mdm binds to the first MAC address it sees and will only release one IP to that machine. so say comp1 is turned on and comp2 is off. you power cycle your mdm. wait for the solid lighs you have when its working then on comp1 you renew your IP. now comp one can browse the web. now you gotta get the comp2 and internal IP and a means of comunicating with comp1 to share the connect...
__________________loopback is 127.0.0.1 Thats like saying "localhost" or the NIC the connection came from. EX: my IP in 192.168.1.100 ping 127.0.0.1 ping localhost ping 192.168.1.100 are all the same. Failure means your nic did not respond.. what where you doing when you got that?

lost with the to be honest what has been done is both computers are on, comp1 (is mine with the connection on DSL Modem [usb]) and comp2 is the computer plugged into the hub which i want to share a connection too. now i have done the wizard before and everything i done last time, but still not having a result, i have run a test which came with the drivers for the network card in comp2, and it comes up loopback test faliure,,, i can access comp2 from comp1 using netop, but on comp2 if i go into network places and goto workgroup it comes up network is not accessible.... on your information could you guide me through step by step on what to do...
