Default Wireless Illegal?

If you use someone elses wireless internet is it illegal, there is no security its just s broadcated signal.

It is, some guy sued some person a while ago and got a good chunk of money from it, but the guy stealing it was in his car outside the persons house. Idiot.

I think it shouldn't be because people should have more sense in securing their wireless, but unless you're hogging major bandwith others wont even notice.

People were doing it on my wireless network when I was setting it up with a MAC filter. I would keep booting them and disrupting their connections.

Yeah my friends do that too. They complain about the lack of internet speed and I ask them what internet service they got and they answer me with "wireless". Well duh. I make sure my home Wireless-G network has an ecryption code and good protection to prevent other users from connecting to the router.

It is illegal. It is otherwise known as war-driving. Our router sucks, so I am not to worried about someone picking up our network because they would have to be within a few feet of my house. And I have 2 german sheppards who bark at anything that move...

somebody sat outside my college with a laptop plugged into the cigaretter lighter socket and downloaded off p2p stuff all night, it was something like a T4 connection and also fibre optics lines now apart from the p2p i think it is wrong (unless you dont get caught)
think if you were paying £20 a month for your internet and you found some lazy ass git was sat next door drinking beer all day dling porn using your net, i would be angry would you??
