Default Speedtest and Pingtest Event for Fall of 2009

Welcome overclock.net one and all. It is time to bring this contest out of the depths of the earth and have another test of the OCN communities internet speeds. This was a big hit in April of 2008. We are also going to broaden this example and continue this with www.pingtest.net , while still in beta, it proves to be a fun and useful tool. Fun in regards that it passes the time while at school, and useful when attempting to diagnose a connection problem to certain geographical areas.

Speedtest.net Event:

Rules:
  1. This is open to all users, and all types of connections. Residential, Educational Establishments, and Business connections. Each connection will be split into different groups. If someone submits a speedtest.net link they must clarify for which of the above it applies to.
  2. Members will be able to submit an entry for each residence (Home, Business, School) however, please, only make one post. You are free to edit your posts however many times to get the best entry you can.
  3. All entries must use www.speedtest.net for their entry.
  4. All entries should be formatted as below.
Quote:

Entries in this contest will be rated on:
  • Download speed
  • Upload speed
  • Asymmetry/symetry (Best/Worst Ratio)
Special Note:
  • You will note that there are three options for the type of Residence this connection will be tested. There will be three separate entry groups, if you would like to enter for home and business, or home and education, feel free to do so. If anyone has been confused by this, I do apologize.
How long will this event run: October 30th, 2009

Pingtest.net Event:

Rules:
  1. This is going to be only open for members that have a connection at a residential house. This will exclude, college/university networks, business networks, and Cellphone networks. This helps members compete against members.
  2. Only one submission per member. Feel free to edit your post as many times as you would like, however please do not post more then one submission.
  3. You are only allowed to use www.pingtest.net
  4. Please format your submission as stated below:

Entries in this contest will be graded on:
  • Highest MOS (Mean Opinion Score)
  • Lowest and Highest Ping
  • Lowest and Highest amound of Jitter
How long will this event run: October 30th, 2009

If you would like to enter in both please make a very simple post like this:
