Time to open this up again! I know many of you have been asking for this and the time has come. We will keep the entry period open until the end of April. That should give everyone ample time to get a sample run in. The entry format is different this year (and is going to be very specific. It will seem redundant, but necessary for archival purposes.

Here are the rules:

Your connection must be a product designed for home use. This explicitly excludes all college/university networks and business networks. The idea of this contest was for members to compete against other members (not against an entity with millions to spend on network infrastructure).
All entries must use www.speedtest.net for this contest
All entries must be formatted as shown in the example below
Only one entry per member, you may change your entry via edit, but no new posts

Bonz deserves a special designation. He entered the contest twice. Instead of disqualification I decided to add his two scores together. Unfortunately, even with both scores added, he comes in last in every category (minus symetry). In no way am I trying to be demeaning, after all he did enter. I think he shows all of us the importance of giving it our best shot.

Sorry for the double post, I forgot to put this in the other one. The contest is now closed, everyone has had ample time to get an entry in.

Secondly I need someone to double check the spreadsheet I attached. I keyed in each entry by hand and almost certainly flubbed some of the numbers. The post order that the entries are listed in is the same as the entries are seen here. Please send me a PM with any errors you find.

Has anyone had a chance to double check that spreadsheet? I really would appreciate the help. I would hate for a stupid typo to deny someone a spot on the list.

Looked at it, but I just have a feeling that those tops aren't home connections :P.

Mine is mine and mine alone. Japan has an AMAZING infrastructure to the point where there is no need to limit upload. I can upload 5 bleach episodes to the number of 50GB while I sleep. Only problem is it makes my harddrive unhappy. :-)

Most areas run about 40Mb DSL but my area got fiber about 8 months ago. Not really sure if I'm going to be able to put up with comcrap when I get back to the states.

mine is a home connection BUT i do have to say that some of those numbers seem a bit high for home lol
