Okay, hi all. I am not that old, I am a youngin. I know enough about computers as that saying I am currently taking an A+ course at my school but will be taking another one with my friend during the summer. Also I am looking for a C++ course. Anyone know any good books that explain C++ for let's say... I guy around 18, thought I am not 18, I am younger than that but thats all you need to know. I don't want to walk into the C++ class and look like a fool. I need some good reading on C++ and one that will help me and give examples for me to do this.
Okay, now my project for my friend. I am willingly to take suggestions, comments and anything other you can help me with. My thoughts: A.) I think he should get a AMD antholon at 2.8 GHz then we should overclock it around 3.2 GHz. (Question: What do you guys suggest we use to make sure that my friend doesn't burn up the processor? Like glue, CMOS? Things like that. Fans, etc...) B.) Can you overclock a video card? Let's say a 9200 Radeon. Can you do that? C.) Any good suggestions on motherboards that are good for a decent price? D.) Type of RAM? I would like him to wait on MRAM but I don't know when its coming out... I am thinking just getting him 512 MB of RAM. I know not to get DDR as that I had trouble with them in the past. E.) Things to make this computer good looking and a cheap case that we can mod with this site we have. But then we want to make sure that it is not going to burn up on us, in that I mean burning up the CPU, etc. RULES! 1.) Must be under $500 (we have some parts already from my old Dell. 2.) Not to hard. Thank you for your time. Either Email me at kage207 at gmail.com or reply to this thread. Thanks again. XD Last edited by Xavier1421 : 04-20-05 at 05:22 PM. Sorry, but you aren't going to get an AMD cpu that does 2.8Ghz stock for anywhere below $1200, lol. Maybe a good 64 MIGHT* make it to 2.8Ghz, but... nothing more I can say.
