Default Greetings

Good day all,
I am, obviously, new to the forum, while similarly being new to overclocking as a whole. I but recently completed the assembly of my first ever custom-built computer, working with a budget of $1000 (having seen some of the rigs around this site, I'm certain that will strike some of you as a laughable sum...still, it's all I can afford at the moment) and am rather proud to find that it is - to date - performing quite well. I work in graphic design (digital), primarily on logos and branding, although I have done some freelance work in environment design for videogames. All told, software - of just about any nature - is second-hand to me, though hardware is another thing entirely.
I built this computer therefore, and am interested in overclocking it, just as much for the potential performance gains as for the knowledge I'll likely be able to glean from the experience. Having said that, I do hope to improve my computer (considerably, if possible) though it's not a priority.
To conclude, I'm overjoyed to have found this site (well, I was actually recommended to come here from an acquaintance on the ExtremeTech board) and hope you guys can lend me hand.
Thanks...

Welcome aboard.

BTW, $1000 can make a damn fine system in my opinion. Nothing to be scoffed at.

Thanks for the kind welcome, guys. I honestly appreciate it.
Oh, and I'd have to agree with you about the monetary issue. I'd like to think I managed to make a rather nice computer, all things having been said and done. I got a truly fantastic deal on the graphics card, which is - by far - the one acquisition I am most proud of (8800 GTS for $50 from a friend who was taking his media-center PC apart. Used less than a week). I had been using (at home) the integrated graphics on my old system, a Presario 5700, up until this point. Talk about a world of difference...

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Oh, and likewise.
I see we picked up the same power supply, so I'll take it as confirmation that I managed to select a good one. I also spent quite a bit of time (about two weeks) searching for a good deal on the XtremeMusic soundcard (it was the last thing I was going to add), but could never afford one (even on ebay). Pity I couldn't afford any Ballistix memory, either.
Oh, well, right? A month or two down the line (once Christmas is over and I have some spare cash again) I'll see about changing that.
Again, thanks, for the compliment and the welcome...
