Default Greetings from Norway

Hi, and greetings from Norway :-)

I am completely new to overclocking, but I hope to learn alot from the skilled people on this forum.

I have overclocked my Intel q6600 from 2.4Ghz to 3.1Ghz by increasing the bus speed to 346 Mhz. It runs stable, and everything looks OK, but cpu-z displays a weird CAS Latency (tCl) - 32 clocks. The memory timings I have set manually in the bios is not reflected under Memory in cpu-z.

1. Does this mean that my RAM has lousy performance?
2. Why does not cpu-z show the timings I have manually entered in the bios?

I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post questions like this.

Hi ErikX! Welcom to Overclock.net!

Be sure to kindly fill out your computer specifications in your signature so that we may be able to help you further.

As for your questions, your board most likely has some sort of a protection that automatically changes your memory latencies. Make sure to disable any of these auto declock schemes in the BIOS!

Fill in your system specs here first. Make sure you have the latest version of CPU-Z, 1.41 I believe. Is the timing shown as 32 in the BIOS? Remember to take it off of auto.
