Hey...New to forum here....reading and learning....Only built one machine before which is AMD based.....and regrettably slow. Here to learn more about pushing PC limits and seeing the potential of modern technology.
hah. rehearsed.....anyway looking at the q6600 since that seems to be all the rage now....you guys are getting incredible numbers from stock with it so maybe i'll change "religions" hah.

My laptop (AMD Dual) is faster than the Athlon based desktop i'm on now...not sure what the problem is....random freezes? i was always told that desktops are generally faster than laptops. Not so in this case....could be the dual core in the laptop is just that much faster. ..... Looking for tips....in the market soon for a new build with that q6600 i think......the phenom isn't pushing numbers like i've seen with the q6600....at least i haven't read anything about the AMD.....any tips on a new build would be great.
