New builder and overclocker
I have been interested in computers and pc gaming for many years, but I had always owned pre-built consumer computers until last month. I decided to build my first pc from scratch, and I am really glad that I did. It's been a fun project, and I have learned a lot in a very short time.
__________________I was referred here by my friends, s1rrah and Gollie, with whom I share another hobby: headphones. I liked what I saw here, so I registered. I'll be joining the OCN Headphone Club pretty quick. I know a little bit about that topic, but I will be listening and learning when it comes to overclocking. I also think I will post a blog here that I have been writing about this project. It's probably better to post my newbie overclocking mistakes out there in the weeds rather than here in the flow of traffic anyway.  Oh yeah... the new computer... I aimed for a safe 33% overclock and I was able to get there with pretty good temps and very stable. I am able to play Crysis at 1920x1200 2x AA on high to very high settings at 30fps, which is something I could never dream of on a DELL. I am now working on improving my overclock settings and learning the limits of my chip & board, while I enjoy the fruits of my labor, i.e. the games. I also really like music via Vista as opposed to WinXP, and I am re-ripping my CD's to FLAC in order to use my pc as my source. Thanks for all the help on this build, s1rrah! I'll need to figure out how to give you a rep point for that.

hi and welcome
__________________ im new to forum also (first time build/oc too) and was curious about the ripping cd's to flac comment. I love me some high quality audio and have never heard if this. i'd be grateful for some schooling -nice rig - we have lots in common
