Bad case, bad PSU, overpriced GPU; you really should have asked around and given us a budget before ordering IMO.

went with the case because of the three fans and the fact it was 60 bucks. if it turns out to be a junker, oh well ill just get a new one and send it to mom and dad in fla. whats the issue with the psu? havent heard of any doa's on it recently. i doubt im going to xfire any time soon and as far as it not being modular, big deal. being in aviation avionics. i can hide budles iwth the best of em. also they just raised the price of that gpu, according to my order form after rebate im paying 150 after MIR. gues that inclusion of stormforge raised the price up.

wish i would have known about this place before placing the order though. woulda made things a lot easier and a lot less stressfull

That case is most likely very poorly made with low quality steel and extremely unfriendly to build in. You will probably get cut on it multiple times. Number of fans really don't mean jack for airflow, and the fans that come with such a crappy case probably don't push enough air to make a difference at all.

The PSU isn't a very high quality model at all; it is $60 dollars for 650W, whereas a Corsair 450W power supply costs more than that; that should give you an idea of how poor the former will be. A good quality 600W+ power supply costs $100 or more, and for a reason; it won't spark up and die when placed under a heavy load. You can't joke around with PSUs, they are the heart and souls of systems. Modular is unimportant to me

That video card, even though the cooler on it (IceQ4) looks fancy, it really is a piece of crap. It's not even real copper, just painted aluminum, and overpriced for what you get. A 4890 can be had for the same price after rebates and they perform a lot better than 4870s.

Sorry if my post seems aggressive, nothing against you at all, just trying to help you out. Is there a way you can send the stuff back and start over? I guarantee you 100% that after you pick parts with our help on this website, you will be much happier than with this order.

Regardless, the IceQ4 WILL do a very good job of keeping your 4870 cool, better than the stock cooler of course, but it's not as much of a miracle as people make it out to be.

well thats cool then. bassically the reason why i rushed and grabbed a bunch of this stuff is a long story. moved, try and boot my comp. found one ram chip dead, one hard drive dead...SOB! and since im tired of overpaying for cookie cutter deals i decided to go with a build my own. anyways what your telling my is that the airflow in the case doesnt make as big a deal as some make it out to be? im planning on flipping the 140mm fan on that case around to act as a second exhaust fan. then dremmeling in an exhuast duct directly over the cpu if possible. if i have a side fan right above the cpu, i may flip that fan around to get the air out quick like.

I think you should ask that in the air cooling forums, you'll get much more intelligent responses.
