I'm a brand new AMD user. This forum and some of you were also responsible for that, since I used some information given here to configure my computer. Now as a member, in addition to interaction with other users, I want to learn more about the overclocking world.

Greetings.
First thing you should do is try to unlock your dual-core.
I have a non-ACC motherboard so i can't do that.
I'm keeping my 550 on 3.5 Ghz on stock voltage, so that's the second thing you should do if the unlocking fails

Hey Ness. Thanks for the advise. Actually i bought this cpu (0923...serial) and mobo to unlock the other two cores. It's already unlocked and running stable (Super Pi, Prime 95, 3Dmark for 12h). I dont know if it's a good ideia to raise from 3.1 to 3.5...

Well, try it.I don't know about it, but i've seen few people managed to clock it to 3.5 without much hassle. How's your new quad working? I'm contemplating on getting myself a new MB, but i have limited cash so i was thinking the same MB i have except rev 2.

Well Ness, i choosed this one for mainly its PCIe 2.0 x8/x8 CrossFire support and known friendliness toward overclocking and unlocking Phenom II processors. But if your only interest is to unlock, that one will be fine. Next month i'll buy a new HD4850 ; )
