I'm new here, amateur OCer (know the basics about AMD BE OCing), computer geek since I was 10, etc.

Hope to learn a lot here.

Thanks.

10? that's great! I got addicted at around the same age. My first system was a Packard Bell with a 75Mhz Pentium, 1.14GB HD, I think 4MB of memory, and Windows for Workgroups 3.11. Lol!

Very cool. I'm an old coot tho.

I started actually with a game machine called Magnavox Odyssey2 that you could get a gaming cartridge that let you program your own hex coded stuff that made a little pick axe game.

Then Christmas 1981, my parents bought me a Commodore 64 at K-Mart in my hometown. My parents, no matter how insistent they were I not just play games, failed to just get me to learn with it. Of course, I learned a lot, but I also did the nutty 150 and 300 baud (not Kbaud...just...baud...bits per second) calling in the middle of the night to BBSes across the country.

When I was in high school and college, I got into IBM-clone PCs thanks to my math/physics/computer teacher, and made a TON of friends (to this day, I still keep in contact with 5 of them) that all were geeks together growing up and everything.

Now, I'm a senior programmer for a government body doing not only Access programming/VBA but also Java, Javascript, XHTML/XML/CSS, C++ and other stuff I try to forget.

It's nice to meet you though. All of you. I am ready to get back into hardware more after 15 years of being a professional programmer.

There's only so many loops and print statements you can write without getting bored!

Cheers

That's awesome. There's a bunch of diversity in hardware now a days. And, best of all, it's pretty much geared for overclockers and enthusiasts.

Lol, yeah my PB came a lot later than the Odyssey.
