Please use the following process when submitting overclocking news to Overclock.net:

• Submit your news here: News for Overclockers NOT here Overclock.net Related News and Information
• Use a VERY descriptive title
• Quote the essential paragraph of the story BUT NOT the entire article
• Cite the author and link back to the full story
• There is no need to add "Read this" or any other relatively useless commentary
• DO cite a source in the title, preferabely abbreviated.
• Using slang in to describe the post or "Source" link is not permitted.

Here is an example of a format to follow (using a VERY fake story):

Summary: Source: NotSoTrueStoriesFoundOnline.com

Obviously the "Title", "Summary" and "Source" parts do not need to be included. They are simply used in this example to breakout the different elements.

I was wondering the same thing. Some articles are only a paragraph or 2 long and it requires that the entire thing to be posted. I can see why like an 8 paragraph article shouldn't be posted but sometimes that isn't the case.

Personally I'm against cherry picking paragraphs that get posted into the thread. It's a horrible way to run a news section and really, what is the overwhelming need to limit the OP to just a brief paragraph of the news article?

Well, other people also believe that by quoting the entire news article, you pretty much make the source link useless, except for verification purposes.

That's how it is guys. Source link is mandatory. One point is that if members keep quoting entire articles, they can manipulate them and confuse people. It's like the headlines of a newspaper, only the most necessary and relevant information is supposed to be quoted.

And for the question with barely any paragraphs. You may quote the entire piece of it, but use common sense. Again, only quote the most relevant parts of the article.
