Im finally looking to go high def with the coming of Brawl so i was wondering what are all you HD users out there using with your Wii's? I'm trying to get my hands on a cheap 480p HD thats still reliable. Even a 720p would work, so when i get my PS3 i could use that with it as well. Trying to stay under $500 people!
Rep+ to helpers, Thank you!

FYI 480P is only enhanced definition. 720P+ is high definition. I would go with a 720P televison. Cnet has an awesome Hdtv finder tool

Well it depends what size TV you want. I would recommend a 32" LCD. If you want to keep it around $500 then I would say this. I know it is $600, but wait for one of those 12% rewardzone coupons and use that, and save like $65. If you don't get one, just tell them you left yours at home, and ask if they will still do it. If you talk to a supervisor they will most likely.

I would also recommend at least a 32" 720p screen size for a TV. This is actually on sale for $580 (price in cart) and is a good buy.
You may also want to think about getting a 24" monitor with lots of inputs (e.g. Dell WFP2407 or similar) instead and use that as a general purpose screen for your PC and Wii. It has component and composite inputs for your Wii and will do 1080p through DVI.

Don't get that Westinghouse. I work at Best Buy, and I am 16, so I was looking at getting a 32" TV for my room. I spent HOURS of research, and I didn't hear good things about that TV, and I saw it, and it was not that great.

Yes, the Westinghouse isn't great, but it's acceptable. It's on par with the Insignia you linked. You can't really get a nice TV with a budget of $500, which is why I recommended the 24" monitor with lots of inputs.

For a small tv, don't get a Westy since you can always get a good name brand tv for that price. Although Westy's are great monitors. I have 2 47's(TX&LVM) and a 37" LVM, both are great in SD and HD.
Maybe the 32", but 42"+ are a lot better than Insignias.

The NEW Insignia's are pretty damn nice. The one I linked is their new model.

I would wait another month or two and save up to the $750 or so range and get a nice samsung or sony lcd....
__________________For the money most High Def tvs at $500 are a waste. You will get the clearest picture possible (not brightest) with a CRT anyway so if you arent going to go for a decent size you might as well get a nice CRT set.
