Ya, with CycloDs you can also soft reset, change LCD brightness mid-game and stuff like that.

I believe I read somewhere that the R4 can change brightness too... And I'm positive it can do a soft reset also.
The main reason for going Cyclo is because R4 is stopping production and support of it. Nintendo is on their butts about it.

There is R4sdhc firmware, however I think that requires a sdhc card to boot and I don't have one to test. I'm also not entirely sure if you need a new cart.

I don't actually own an R4. I'm just starting to prefer buying a cyclo over an R4.

If you have any other device that uses SD or Micro SD, you can pick up a 4gb Micro SD card for like $12 off amazon.com. If it doesn't work in the R4, just use it on some other device (like a camera and whatnot)

If you haven't bought a cart yet, I've heard good things about the Acekart.

I have an R4 and I bought a 4GB SDHC for it and I couldn't get it to boot. It works with a 2GB normal SD card though.

Sorry guys, no dice. It shows the black "LOADING" screen and never makes it past that. It did the same thing the last time I tried.
