Default DSi total faulire of bottom half of the console
Nothing but the ABYX buttons work. Touch screen and D-pad just don't work

Anyone any ideas?

how long ago did you buy it? if you bought it recently, you could probably get it returned from where you bought it and say it was faulty.

I don't know what to say man I've never heard of anything nintendo just crapping out like that, do you think nintendo could replace it for you somehow?

If you've still got the receipt or it's still under warranty get a refund or replacement. I've heard nothing but good things about the DSi from the people who've bought one so it sounds like you just got a lemon.

I had a look at it tonight and I'm glad my GF put the screen covers on. Apparently it broke on the third day of having it.

At first I read DSi total failure, and I was like, hey, way to state the obvious. Nintendo and their stupid habit of milking every concept they have until it's bone dry...

Anyways, yeah, warranty is pretty much you're only option unless DealExtreme has started selling repair kits/parts like they do for the iPhone.

Considering it came out like two weeks ago, I would go to where you purchased it and get a replacement.

I'm sure Nintendo has a warranty considering it was JUST released.

I'm going to try firmware updates first efore I take it back. But there's a 2 year extended warrenty on this and of course it's less than 28 days old, so taking it back to the shop isn't a problem. I'd just rather not.
