first of all why DSL and not DSi? cash... i' low now and the DSi won't make much difference for me.

my main problem is that the price for this little console in israel is crazy
DSL in Israel is 989nis ~ 247$ when in amazon the price is 130$... you can see my problem i presume.

so first decision is that i can't buy a new one in israel only outside it.
the second was harder. why buy a new one? i was looking for a seconed hand DSL but the i found the refub DSL on DX for 88$ any good?

I refurbished one wouldn't be bad if you don't have the cash for a new one. The refurbished ones are usually not to bad but it depends on where your buying it from.

i was going to order it with R4 card and some other things from DealExtreme.com

i even found a "gray" store in Israel that sells a "new" DSL (smells like refub to me) with R4 for 700nis > 175$
but still, a refub from DX with all that i need will be less then 100$

Sorry I know it does not quite answer your question, but try and avoid the black DS.
I have one and it's a finger print magnet. It looks incredibly ugly in a very short space of time.
Try and track down a white one.

The DX DS's are refurbished but almost certainly not by Nintendo. Its probably okay, but expect stuff to be broken.
