If you choose to go with the wii, then you need to purchase a gamecube controller to play gamecube games. The Wii though might not be your type of fun though, and if not just get a gamecube.

GameCubes are mad cheap these days definitely go for it.

And aside from that, you should also check out other games like Super Smash Brothers: Melee, Metroid: Prime, Tales of Symphonia and the likes if you pick one up.

Though I'll tell you know, Metroid: Prime is of course a long ass game. And Tales of Symphonia is basically an amazing 2-disk 80hour game but its sooooooo good. So be sure to pick that up as well if you get the cube(which is a much better and cheaper option then the wii considering what you want to get it for).

ToS, also has plenty of replayability. Lots of sidequests to do, different weapons to get, different titles to get your characters which can boost your stats, theres also the main quest of course, and as a sidenote, when you win fights depending on various factors of your fight you earn Grade which can be spent sometimes during the game but mainly in the grade shop after completing the story to buy bonuses for the next playthrough.

Here's a list of GameCube games you should check out if you get it or even if you get wii instead since its backwards compatible:

Might as well get a gamecube, you can probably get one at a garage sale for like $10.

Get the cube cuz wii's are a waste of money lol.

If you want, you can buy mine, though I'm worried it'd cost more to ship than I'd make.

I had a lot of fun with my cube. Not all of the RE games are ports. They also made Redient Evil 0 which was a prequel. Also look for Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime 1 & 2 they are great games.

The gamecube is worth every penny you pay for it. I see them all the time for $10-15 at yard sales. I sold the wii within a few days after launch night. I for one can't stand that goofy controller and all the useless peripherals for it.

If you have a local gamecrazy or similar store, Cubes are only like 30$. Or maybe craigslist for cheaper. Only reason I still have mine hooked up is because I use the gameboy player (I also ahve a set of component cables for it) .

i use my Wii for gamecube games but only coz i got the Wii before wanting to play gamecube games. otherwise i'd get a gamecube.

the games i play are Resident Evil, Rogue Squadron 2+ 3 and i got Zelda but havnt played it much yet.

i try playing RE1 remake but for some reason i can never fully get into it, it really needs a lot of commitment.

hey instead of getting a gamecube, get the gamecube/wii emulator.
i play windwaker 1920x1080p 16x QAA 16x af @ 50 to 60fps. plays alot of titles and a plus its free.
and you'll be able to play alot of the new wii titles with your system at full speed at an hd res. way better than any gamecube or wii out there.

heres the link http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/wii/

oh by theway some games may not be supported on the emulator so you might want to google it before you buy, or you can ask me.
