Im working on a four page magazine spread for a class assignment, its to create a game magazine spread and im half way though creating it. Im stuck on how they did the header for the ad because my instructor wants us to make it as realistic as possible, but not to actually copy it. So I need to know if someone will be so kind to upload the magazine spread for Wii's Mario Kart... So I can try to create something similar to it, but ive tried to research it and i cant seem to locate it.

Regardless if you use the scanned article or not, I believe that would be copyright infringement.

no it wouldnt:
1. Im looking to see how they've done the header and layout
2. I already created a magazine from scratch for my background, one off, so i already meet the legal guidelines of a 30% change to the original design if i were to ever use it.
3. Im not even selling this, its a PROJECT for a final in my class so the issue of infringement wont even be an issue.

Copying any part of a magazine page (i.e. scanning it) would be infringement as you don't have permission to make the copy, REGARDLESS of how you use the copy.

If I scanned a magazine article into my computer without even posting it on the web, that would be copyright infringement.

I don't even have any magazines with a Mario Kart article, I'm just saying...

sorry man but thats incorrect, i do this for a living, i think i know the legal aspect of it.

I am not COPYING IT, im trying to see how they did the freakin header for it!

Also to prove my point, check out the Mona Lisa with the mustache, its a COPY of the original Mona Lisa that was SOLD around the world and was found ruled in favor of the artist because the 30% change was performed when he drew a mustache on her. So trust me, its not infringement, check your laws. Not trying to be a jerk man though

He's not copying it, He's trying to get an idea for it. It's like wanting to make a story, so you read a butt load of books to try and get an idea, and then you go from there and make your own.
