I've been playing for the past few days, and, to me, the story just seems to drag on and on. Mission after mission, day after day (in-game time), it all seems so drab.

This is the first game in the KH series that I've played, because I never liked the idea of playing an action/rpg involving Disney characters.

Is is supposed to get any better, or do I have to be a die-hard fan of the series to get into the game?

is this the first kingdom hearts? for the ps2? I thought that game was horrible, just because of the controls. I wish square would have used their standard controls and menu keys from the final fantasy series. not to mention how horrible it is to jump with goofy or Donald getting in the way of everything. I couldn't finish the game... And never tried the second one.

EDIT: ah, I see, they released a third one. Sorry I didn't know that.

My wife is a Disney fanatic and almost picked this game up for her DS over the weekend. I did a quick search for reviews before she did and one review gave it a B+ rating and mentioned that it was an ok game but was really repetitive. She wound up passing on it and got the new Mario and Luigi Bowser Stories instead and got totally sucked in this weekend.

Looks like she made the right decision....maybe it's time to trade the game in?

Yea, the gameplay is really good, no complaints here. But the story is just boring. Maybe I'm expecting more out of this game, but I keep waiting for epic Final Fantasy type battles to happen. I'll give the game a little more time, then I might shelve it.

TBH that's how I felt about the 2nd game so I can imagine that's how it's going to be for this. Their should be some pretty epic fights though so don't shelve it yet. Also don't compare it with FF, it's completely different and comparing them will just get you pissed

I really liked the first and second in the series. I think those are worth playing.

Yeah you should have played the first two Ps2 games. In my opinion, the Sora storyline is infinitely better than Roxas.

I was very skeptical of the story until I played it, now I can't wait for KH3. So much, in fact, I'd buy a Ps3 just to play it.

yes this story is a drag in this one. Its more pleasurable if you actually understood the whole thing. But even then, its meant to be more of a 'sad' rather then exciting story because of who Roxas really is.
