about how high would you guys say gpu temps can get before you are in the danger zone? i've heard people saying their card has run at like 90 degrees for like 5 years and other people are like "70 is too high, it's about to burst into flames.AAAHHHHHHHH!!!"
what do you guys think?

Depends per card.
ATI cards (X1900's and so) can take a hot beating, and their fan doesn't even hit 100% unless they hit 90C ![]() nVidia... keep those a little cooler, but 80C should be ok

if your already in high 60s id invest in a aftermarket cooler befor you volt mod it. The shutdown temp on a 7xx card is around 125c i thk but they proibly thottle at 80s.

I have a nv silencer 5 on my 7900gs it needed a little modding to get it to fit right and it only covers some ram chips about 3/4s but seems to work fine. I can run core at 660mhz and memory at 880mhz without volt mods.
