if youre careful its not very risky but lapping a gpu wont do anything

as5 will though, dont lap it, just use the as5

it will reduce the temps, possibly causing the artifacts to go away

wipe off all the stock stuff, apply a bb sized ammount to the centre of the gpu and youre set, youll see better temps for sure

If you lap your die, you can kiss your video card buh bye guys The surface of a FBGA die is going to be flatter and smoother than anything you could do by hand anyway, and lapping the heatsink will probably just take too much material away and cause contact issues. AS5 is always good to add though, reduce temps which is always good, and might possibly help it clock a little higher.
