as devildriver said, IF you have the AGP 6600gt, there is NO arctic silencer that will fit.

go ahead and look at the frozencpu link. look at the underside. do those pins look like they are in the right place? no, they aren't...and AC will not make a 6600gt agp cooler.

stick with the zalman. it poons heat problems. i have the vf700alcu sitting on my dresser (xfx has my card). it looks nice. it sounds nice. just barely

just stick with the vf700alcu. don't get a silencer, it will not fit your card.

EDIT: woot woot! can't wait for that faq. you trying mounting it backwards too? I've heard bending fins and mounting it backwards makes room for ramsinks. just don't want you writing an uneducated faq. sweet!

well CrimsonMango said that the Zalman comes with ramsinks to use. are those the ones that you are talking about modding, cuz i really dont want to mess up my stock ones(just in case i have to send the card back) soes anyone else have any experience with the arctic silencer. a few people said those are the best u can get.

if your gpu is turned 40*, and you have that hsi bridge in the way, then you cannot use a silencer. that silencer is made for the pci express versions that don't need an hsi bridge, and therefore do not have a turned gpu.

UNrotated gpu: silencer will work


rotated gpu: silencer will not work

yes its the ramsinks that come with the zalman that you modify, and since it comes with 8 and the 6600GT only uses 4 if you happen to mess one or two up no big deal.
for a 6600GT agp no one is going to have exp with an arctic silencer. all agp's have the bridge on them, which is what caused the change in lay out.
the zalman is the only air cooler you can use.

EDIT: you can also venture and try the jacsh1, which looks alright. i just didn't like it. thought it was ugly. and poorly designed.

ok, that is really stupid, why dont they make an arctic silencer fo the AGP version. also, why dont companies make stuff for AGP anymore. even the Zalman requires mods. thats it, my next comp is gonna be PCI express.
