Default Water Cooling

I've got a 5700 and will be getting a 6800 Ultra/GT Soon. So i was wondering, i've heard that water cooling was much more efficient. That's my concern, when getting water cooling, do u need a WHOLE new mobo that contains WC support? or is the cooling just an individual piece that can be added into the mobo?

thanks.
