The S1 has 4 heat pipes, the s2 only has 2. The S1 can be used as a passive card, which is what I like. I hate noisey PC's.
I also had the S1 on my 7800GT (now that I think about it, I have gone from 6800gt to a 7800gt, now to a 8800gt ).I moved my 7800gt to 1 of my media boxes but didn't fit with all my tuners, so off the S1 came. After eyeing up the holes on the 8800gt with the accelero it looked like a good fit!

Is there a link to buy the turbo module for the s1? I assume that is a type of fan to cool it furthur?

Thats it. I'm not sure if it is better with a 120, with wire ties. Could be better with just zip ties. LOL j/k... I could almost fit 2 120's on, but I think thats over kill. I've heard the turbo's are quite, but I don't have it, so I can't vouch for its quitness, are let alone cooling. Im sure its decent. From the looks of it, each fan cools two sets of pipes. With my 120 on, I had it focused right on the GPU. As far as it not working on some motherboards, I've never heard of anything like that? I guess it's possiable depending where the northbridge sits, but if thats the case, your Video Card isn't going to fit. The only issue I know with the S! is computer cases. I could not use the S1 with my Micro Cube. Same goes for other cases I'm sure. I look at it this way, if you can't fit the Scthe Ninja CPU heatsink do to case size, the S1 isn't going to fit either.

Thanks for the reply, now here is where I need advice, I am at 15k in 3dmark 2006 at 3.6 quad and core at 725, shader 1750, and memory at 975 and load temps at 71 with a 60 percent fan cycle and noise doesnt bother me. If I get the S1 and lower my temps and do the bios update to get the voltage to 1.1 how much you think I will be able to do with core and shader and is it worth all the hassle. I have the BFG OC 8800gt... Thanks for opinions
