Default Fan problem with MSI 8600GT 256MB OC

Hi,

I posted this problem under a similiar thread but probably you missed that. And since the problem gets annoying and annoying I need to open a new thread.

I have a MSI 8600GT 256MB OC. When I boot my pc my 8600gt's fan is not working and the temp goes up to 90C!! what everest says.

However, when I give the first move to its fan, the temp goes down to 46-47C at idle.(my case cooling is not very good, actually not good at all ) But there comes a new problem. From the fan over 8600gt an incredible sound is coming.

I searched the forum and some said no need to spend any money for extra cooling this silly graphics card. For that money, maybe i sell this and buy a better one like 8800 series. But noone will buy this card with this fan noise. Plus, this is enough for me atm at least DX10 capability.

The other solution is to bring it back to the service because its waranty still valid. But during that time, i cant use my pc. BIG ISSUE for me !

Is there any way to fix its fan by myself. Actually I dont want to get into this kind of fixing attempts but OMG you have to hear this fan

Any help will be appreciated...

Have you turned up the fan speed in RivaTuner?

You can use Rivatuner or nTune to tweak fan speeds. Beyond that, you're going to have to RMA the card.

Thanks for the replies. I never oc my card over riva or anything else. So the best option seems to RMA it. I actually do not want to spend axtra money for this low range card. Thanks anyways...
