My backordered Thermaltake DuOrb's are in for pickup (ordered them end of December, sigh...).
Question is has anyone tried them on a pair of cards in SLI? Especially with a sound card in between. I am going to be mounting them on my Asus 8800GT's and would be curious if anyone else has feedback. I know they will fit and I've read single card results but SLI is of particular interest. I'm even ready for their noise (Hooking them into a fan controller. I have a pair of 4 pin molex to 3 pin converters ready as well). Thanks ![]() btw, check out what I paid for them (And this supplier is local, no shipping)

I wouldn't worry about the noise, I can't even hear mine running in my old all 20 db fan setup. (6 x 20 db, 30 CFM fans)

I read that they are loud. Not a big deal as I have 2 spots open on my 6 channel fan controller (which also monitors the internal case temps in two spots). I'll hook them to it anyhow. If they aren't loud they get to stay at full speed.

Ok here are my default temps and case ambient temps (50C and 51C)
This is with stock coolers and the cards OC to 650/950/1566 (core/mem/shaders) 70C and 54C look to be about the best with rthibl (its really cold in here though which I am certain helps). Next I'll install the DuOrbs and we'll see how they do. Also a shot after a quick COD4 match, moved the temps up a bit (66/71C)

All I can say is wow...
Running at 675/975/1750 (core/mem/shaders), idle is under 30c for both cards. After 45 minutes of COD4, see below... 41/43C overclocked and run up in temps. Thats a drop of over 20C for each card. They are a bit loud and a fan controller doesn't seem to do anything to change the fan rpm but it is livable. These coolers are pretty amazing.

Got them working with my fan controller as well. Dialed down to lowest fan speed only makes about a 5C difference and then you cannot hear them over the other fans.
