I actually get higher temps by just letting the cube run....

I didn't know the slider increased the load on the GPU. Are you sure that's what the slider is there for?

When running 3DMark06 I topped out at 92 degrees so you're fine.

100 degrees is pretty much the cut off point from what I hear but I usually like to make it 90 as a personal rule. Since I was there watching the test as the temperatures rose I let it go but was ready to cut it off as soon as I saw any artifacts.

90 on 3dmark06?

I hit 72C on that test and hit 78C on Medal of Honor Airborne.

Your card could be going higher in real games.

Nah...I have an overlay on and it doesn't come up that far. I was shocked that it hit 92 before the fan kicked on and even then it wasn't at 100% but rather 49% up from 25%.

I'm still having a nasty little problem with my fan speed resetting all the time even though I have it set to 100% in RivaTuner. I've had the problem on the current version, 2.07 and 2.06.

No idea what's up but I may just flash my BIOS and set it to 100% even though I've been an advocate for not doing it in case you fudge it and brick your card.
