Hm... how's this coming along? I must say, I agree with Ducky on the thermal pad stuff. Even if you just want to reseat the GPU, once you've pulled away the stock HSF, there's no guarantee that junk will fit just the same again.
Since the PCBs face each other, I think a solution - should one ever be invented - will look like two HR-03s coming out from the center with the HS radiator on the outside of the card, which would take up a lot of space (especially with a fan on each side). If they can make it low-profile, it might be possible to take up "only" two extra PCI slots, one on each side of the card! I'd still buy one; I have room if I move my X-Fi:
