Default Thinking about AKIMBO

I was thinking about what to get for the 8800GT, and AKIMBO, DuOrb, AC S1, VF 900, VF 1000. If I get one of the other ones (not AKIMBO) should I put in one of those PCI slot fans to exhaust out the hot air, or should I get the AKIMBO? If I do get one of the others, which should I get?

DuOrb will prob be the easiest/best solution

Accelero S1 V2 + a 120mm fan (zipties) is also an extremely viable obtion but it takes up 1 more extra slot than the duorb.

i'd totally ignoethe rest of the other ones you listed.

I have a vf1000 on my GTS 512, and I'm getting 50c on load at 820Mhz. I also have one of these underneath it, which seems to help a lot.

Why not just get a GTS which is only a little bit more after MIR which has much better cooling than the GT and is 5-10% better than a GT.

here's a great review on heatsinks for 8800GT:
http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/articl...50aGlzdWFzdA==

It includes all the ones you mentioned (except for AKIMBO) and more

Let's put it this way. My DuOrb keeps my video card at no more than 46 degrees at full load.

IF you get the EVGA 8800GT AKIMBO with 1GB you can OC it to 720Mhz Easy and still have a card with 1GB of RAM. It's a sweet deal!

1gb of RAM is pointless. After 512mb it makes almost no difference.

I agree 100% when talking about games, but I do a lot of video editing and Bryce Rendering, and compaired to my old ATI 9800PRO my new card it way faster. But for only $30 more that a reg. 8800GT Why wouldn't you get the 1GB?
